In vitro fertilization, commonly abbreviated as IVF , is the process of fertilization where eggs combined with sperm in an external lab is allowed to grow in an incubator. The procedure involves implanting follicle into the woman's fallopian tubes, removing an existing ovum from the ovaries, stimulating the patient's ovary and allowing healthy sperm to fertilize them in a lab.
